It is an Offence to Fly Tip !!

There appears to be a problem with Fly Tipping and Litter in general in and around Princes Park.
Medway Council can and will clean up the mess as best as they can but it seems to be a never ending battle against the fools who appear not to care about their local environment.
Some people need to be educated in how to dispose of rubbish!
If you see someone dropping vast amounts of litter or are fly tipping in and around Princes Park (especially Heron Way) then you can report them in confidence to Medway Council.
To report environmental crime call; 01634 336699 or
Kent Crime Stoppers; 0800 555111

Remember- This is a crime and if people are caught they will be prosecuted!

Why not try leaving the tip open for 18 hours a day for 6 months and see if the fly tipping decreases. Also, I hired a van and was told I had to walk in with the rubbish by some jobsworth. Many would just have fly tipped it, I think they've even stopped people walking in now.

There are also the height restrictions, typical of the sort of petty bureaucracy which is on the increase in this country. Get rid of them for the trial period and let ayone dump pretty much anything in the tip for 18 hours a day. I bet it would work out cheaper than clearing up the incessant fly tipping. Also impress in no uncertain terms upon the bureaucrats that work at the tip that they are there to serve the public, not boss them about and hinder them.

Thanks for your comments.
Regarding the tip, the height restrictions are there to avoid trade waste being taken in. With the introduction of the expensive land fill tax by the governement it is important that the council does not pick up huge extra tonnage costs.
I will certainly look into the opening hours for the tip by contacting some councillor colleagues.
We have an action day due very soon in Princes Park to help clear up litter. Details will be posted on this blogsite shortly.
